The world’s largest car advertising photo
Actions speak louder than words, so we wanted to demonstrate the obsessive attention to detail that makes Bentley cars so unique, by transporting the viewer from an epic panorama to the intricate world of Bentley craftsmanship in a digital experience crafted from 53 billion pixels. The resulting image required digital imaging technology developed by Nasa, and was as large as a football pitch, if printed out.
I was responsible for the digital content strategy and asset plan, to ensure that the image could be hosted, promoted and explored to its full potential on Bentley’s many owned and earned digital platforms including web, social, paid media, PR, partners and apps.
Working with Keko London and PHD Media, we created a complementary episodic 360 walkaround experience, zoom teaser video, behind the scenes documentary and detail images for promotional use.
The campaign was so successful that the original gigapixel of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, was repeated a second time from the skies of Dubai, zooming into the marina.
The campaign not only brought in millions of social impressions and web sessions, but also contributed towards the recalibration of the Bentley brand by continuing to inspire brand mentions in the context of technology and innovation, well into it’s 3rd year.
